Thorlabs offers several RMS-threaded, fixed mounting options for securing microscope objectives. The OT1 Objective Lens Turret enables repeatable positioning of up to four microscope objectives and has an externally SM1-threaded mounting interface. The CP42(/M) Cage Plate can hold a single microscope objective, has an 8-32 (M4) tapped hole for post mounting, and has four through holes for mounting into a 30 mm cage system. The OMR(/M) Objective Mount also holds a single objective with an 8-32 (M4) tap for post mounting.

The OT1 is a compact objective lens turret with four RMS-threaded ports. The aluminum housing has steel inserts at critical points to ensure the durability and precision of the detent mechanism, which reproducibly positions the objective lenses with a high degree of accuracy. The mounting interface for the OT1 objective lens turret has SM1 (1.035"-40) threading so that it can be easily integrated into custom imaging systems built using Thorlabs' Lens Tube and Cage Systems. To mount the OT1 in a cage system, use a CP02 or CP02T for a 30 mm cage system and an LCP02 for a 60 mm cage system.

CP42 Cage Plate Mounting an RMS-Threaded Objective in a 30 mm Cage System

The CP42(/M) Cage Plate allows for RMS-threaded components, including many of our microscope objectives, to be incorporated with our 30 mm cage system. Each cage rod through hole is accompanied by a side-located locking M4 setscrew, which can be secured using a 5/64" (2.0 mm) balldriver or hex key. The CP42(/M) can also be post mounted using the 8-32 (M4) threaded hole on the bottom.
We also offer the RMSRR RMS Retaining Ring (not included) for positioning components within the cage plate.

OMR Mount with Microscope Objective

The OMR Objective Mount directly mounts a microscope objective with standard RMS (0.800"-36) threads to our Ø1/2" Posts via an 8-32 (M4 x 0.7) tapped mounting hole. The mount has an outer diameter of Ø1.49" (Ø37.8 mm).
We also offer the RMSRR RMS Retaining Ring (not included) for positioning components within the cage plate.
