The 146-200 is a high precision micrometer head that utilizes a lockable 250 µm pitch leadscrew. The graduated dial and linear scale on the micrometer barrel provide a calibrated readout of displacement. A spherical tip is provided to ensure a single point of contact between the adjuster and the mating surface.

is this item suitable for the adjustment of cylinder end stroke? The force applied will be 300N.
If not, do you have any recommendations for fine adjustments of cylinder end stroke that can withstand a force of 300N? The accuracy needed is 0,01 mm.
Best regards from Slovenia! llamb

Our micrometers and adjuster screws utilize a V-shaped thread type, while you would likely need a trapezoidal thread profile, such as an Acme thread, for translating a 300 N load. chin-eu.yeap

Thanks much! jlow
(posted 2015-10-27 11:42:17.0) Response from Jeremy at Thorlabs: The total length of the micrometer does not change. The only thing that changes is the distance between the end to the mounting barrel. You can see the drawing for 146-200 at http://www.thorlabs.com/thorcat/3100/146-200-AutoCADPDF.pdf, which shows the view at the minimum position. |
