Features
- Chrome-Plated Polished Spindle Improves Accuracy
- Knurled Adjustment Knob for Grip
- Standard Ø3/8" (9.5 mm) Mounting Barrel
- Engraved Graduations for Accurate Alignment
- Versions with 5/64" (2 mm) Hex Available
The 148-811ST and 148-811ST-H micrometers provide a travel range of 0.500" and feature engraved graduations every 0.001", while the 148-801ST and 148-801ST-H micrometers provide a travel range of 13.00 mm with 10 µm spacing between graduations. Item numbers ending in -H incorporate a 5/64" (2 mm) hex, allowing them to be actuated in space-constrained environments.
The spherical spindle tip provides a single point of contact, which minimizes positioning alignment errors. Thorlabs can integrate these micrometers into many of our standard products; please contact Tech Support for details.

What is it made of? We need non-magnetic material, such as pure copper. Could it be customized? llamb
(posted 2020-03-04 09:44:44.0) Thank you for contacting Thorlabs. The lead spindle is made out of alloy tool steel and the thimble/sleeve assembly is made from free-cutting steel. I will reach out to you directly regarding any potential customization. jlow

 (posted 2012-11-09 22:33:52.907) I would like a quote regarding the micrometer drives 1/2 (13mm) 14801S item sharrell
(posted 2012-04-25 09:58:00.0) Response from Sean at Thorlabs: Thank you for your feedback! The distance per revolution for our 140-811ST actuator is 0.025", and for our 140-801ST is 500 µm. We will work to add this information to the web spec tables for all our micrometers. user
(posted 2012-04-24 14:06:07.0) The distance translated per full revolution would also be useful information to include in the overview. Your overview only gives length graduations in terms of "Divisions" and I see many divisions on this product. apalmentieri
(posted 2010-03-12 16:25:32.0) A response from Adam at Thorlabs: Thank you for pointing this error out. We have confirmed the dimension of 9.5mm, as you measured, and will change the drawing on the website. We will also make sure the next version of the catalog does not have this error. user
(posted 2010-03-12 12:47:06.0) website overview drawing says shaft diameter in 10mm, catalog drawing says 9.0mm, and the pdf and SW files indicate 9.5mm. The actual received item is 9.5mm diameter.
So we need a bit of consistency here |
